The Rickenbacker Electric Bass: 50 Years as Rock’s Bottom

The Rickenbacker Electric Bass: 50 Years as Rock’s Bottom

The-Rickenbacker-Electric-Bass-Book-232x300
For over 60 years, Rickenbacker has helped shaped the face of music as we know it. A rich history of superb and innovative design is chronicled from beginning to end in this must-have book for any bass player.

Gorgeous photography and unsurpassed knowledge of the legendary “Rick” make this book an encyclopedia of Bass history. It covers all of the information you would hope to know about your favorite models including signature models and rarities. Your fingers will tremble at the thought of playing the axe on whichever page you happen to be looking at.
As I flipped through this treasure trove of beautiful bass guitars, I couldn’t help daydreaming about winning the lottery and going on a bass buying binge. Alliteration aside, wait until you see what’s on page 42…I didn’t even know it existed! It’s like seeing a picture of Bigfoot and knowing, that “thing” is really out there somewhere. Sorry to leave you in suspense, but you are going to have to pick up a copy of this book to see it for yourself.

The bad news, I still haven’t won the lottery. The good news, $24.99 is a small price to pay for every Rickenbacker Bass ever made! This book will be a conversation piece for any musician or music fan who remembers the iconic images of rock stars like The Beatles, Yes, and Motorhead making history with some of the most bold and beautiful instruments ever crafted. Kudos to author Paul D. Boyer for the 9 years of painstaking research it took him to compile this masterpiece.
